7 Days of Unified, Citywide Prayer & Encouragement for San Antonio - Day 2
DAY 2 Guide: Local Business
Start by picking two specific local businesses.
At 9:00 Take time to pray intentionally for both. (or whenever works!)
Find a way to virtually and creatively let them know you are FOR them.
Some ideas:
Give them a shoutout on instagram or facebook, let them hear and see your support
Send them something they need or want
Be shockingly generous toward their family, their cause or their org.
Have your kids do a cheer, make poster boards or draw pictures and post it online
Remind them of a time that they impacted your life positively and express your gratitude
Use the hashtags: #7daysSA #held #weareheld
Not sure who to pick? Take the time to ask Jesus and pay attention to whomever God brings to mind after you ask.
Not sure how to encourage? Ask God and listen for what ideas pop in your mind and are impressed on you. Check and see if that idea would encourage you...if so, it’s probably a great direction to follow.
Here’s a prayer for Businesses
you can use at home:
God, Thank you for the many ways this local business [____name____] serves our community. [If you know the owner(s), name them as well].
Not just in providing goods, services and jobs but in many unseen ways - freely giving of themselves and their finances to support local causes, team sports, schools, and so much more.
You see it all and Your heart is pleased with their outpourings of love and care.
Today more than ever we are grateful for business owners who have strengthened our community and city.
Creator God, give this business creative ways to adapt to serve their neighbors in this time.
We bless their endeavors to prosper.
For those who are struggling and for those who have closed, we ask You to make Yourself known to every owner and employee in even greater ways today and in the days to come.
In the midst of understandable anxiety and loss, may they know you as Comforter, Prince of Peace, Provider, Sustainer, Miracle Worker, Confident Hope, and Shield of Protection that constantly surrounds them.
Guard their hearts and minds in You as they process their fears, needs, and honest questions with You. Let them feel an exchange of fear for your Peace that passes understanding.
Thank you for good gifts that will come from this season, for provision from surprising places and for new partnerships and innovation that will make businesses stronger than before.
Give us, the consumers, creative ideas to tangibly and spiritually support all those in business who struggle right now - we want to return the blessing to them, Lord.
Help us see our deep interconnectedness and give us boldness to sow generously in one another, wholeheartedly demonstrating our love for You and our love for our business neighbors in these difficult days.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus,
Amen.
