Who Are You?

A couple of my coworkers just led me through a prayer session. I have been through every kind of prayer we do here, and, every time, I feel like God speaks identity over me. I’ve wondered if people who haven’t heard God’s voice are curious about what people hear when they come to ONE and learn how to listen to God. I want to share my experience in hopes to give people insight into why we do prayer here.

I think the general perception of a prayer house is that it is for those who are hurting, broken, or in need of healing. While that is true, it is also true that the prayer house is for people who simply want to connect to the voice of God and hear what He has to say about them or their life circumstances. When you are going through a difficult season of life, whether it be a business failing, marriage troubles, parental problems, or relational issues with God, we are here for you.

We are also here for you when you are thriving, feel incredibly clear and connected to God, and want to find more of His voice or direction. That’s why I just had an incredibly impactful appointment. Sometimes, we just need someone to walk alongside us to help ask questions we didn’t think of asking. Some of my most profound appointments have been birthed out of asking questions I never thought of asking.

Someone recently told me that the one thing they want to do more is ask simple questions to God. We can complicate things with hard questions that don’t always have answers. Simple questions to God produce some of the most profound revelations. Many times, His answers have to do with who He is and who you are when we are looking for direction.

When I want guidance, He consistently points me back to who I am. God created us with a compass inside to help us navigate life: our spirit and soul. He put the desires and passions of our heart in us. Partner with Him and ask Him these questions.

How do you feel about me today? What is your favorite thing about me? What do you think about my current situation? How do you feel about it? Who do you say I am?
