Prayer for a Time of Waiting

We've prepared a prayer for you for the time of waiting, which may be uncomfortable or stressful. We based this prayer on scripture from the Old and New Testament.

“Jesus, You are our strong tower. We look to You and find shelter from all storms. Remind us that we are Yours. Right now by Your Spirit, bring waves of heavenly comfort to every part of us that feels restless, confined, tense.

Jesus, Your heart can handle our humanity. So instead of being restless in general, we bring every bit of restless anxiety and stress that we feel straight to You. To You in that great throne room of grace. To You in that powerful position, seated in heavenly places. To You, we bring all of us into that place of unending, unwavering, unshakeable love.

We will not sit in anxiety for long. We will only let it bring us directly to You. We will only let it speak for as long as it takes to tell You about what it's saying and then let You, God, respond in truth directly to our hearts.

In this time of waiting, we give You our minds—every single thought. We give You our plans—every single minute. We give You our desire to control. Yours is the way forward. We give You our hands. Occupy them according to what You know is best for now.

We wait in You.

We rest in You.

We live in You.

Amen.”
