Prayer is a Two-Way Street

Prayer is always a two-way street.

The idea of shooting prayers into the universe and hoping they land somewhere, somehow, is the most common human idea around prayer. But it’s the least realistic.

There is no such thing as a one-way prayer. You might have experienced something you thought was one-sided, but I promise you, it simply wasn’t.

Prayer—or said differently, communication with God—is relational by nature of who is doing the communicating.

If you are a human, relationship is the most fundamental aspect of your existence.

You were born into a family.

You were grown by human connection, interaction and love.

Humans are crippled, stymied, and can even die when these things are lacking.

You were made by a God who set the entire cosmos into existence through a loving relationship (God the Father, Jesus the Son, and Holy Spirit) for the purpose of Garden-level relationship.

In the beginning, God’s path for humans was walking with Him in the Garden. The path hasn’t changed.

The Immanuel God will never abandon this way of being: with us. So prayer, no matter what insecurity or fear or lack try to tell us, will always be mutual. God with us. Interactional. Directional. Relational. A two-way street.

This week, join us for two learning opportunities: one virtual and one in-person class.
